The Legend of the S-Box: #1 :Orijesso’s Training Awaits!
Written by Dylan Kutz
The air inside the homestead was thick with the scent of dried herbs and ancient paper. Outside, the tranquil sanctuary of Orijan was quiet, but inside, Orijesso’s pulse was racing.
“Master Heather Feather, are you sure about taking the Tymulator?” Orijesso asked, staring at the strange, metallic device resting inside the velvet-lined chest.
Father Heather Feather slowly turned, his sharp eyes searching Orijesso’s face for any sign of doubt. “What have I told you about questioning which Spirit Tool to take outside of the S-Box, Orijesso?”
“Never question the S-Box,” Orijesso recited quickly, holding his breath. “I remember the legend, Master. But do we really have time for the calculations?”
“There is always time for clarity, boy,” Father Heather Feather replied smoothly, adjusting the heavy wooden table attached to the stone wall. “You came to Orijan to begin your training, didn't you? To learn the ways of the Oriji and become an Oriji Origi-Knight?”
“Yes, Master,” Orijesso said, adjusting his S-Glasses. He had traveled far across the realm just to stand in this homestead, eager to learn Origonese and earn his place among the defenders of truth.
“Then remember your first lesson,” the Master said, resting a hand on the table. “To see clearly, you must first learn to listen with your spirit ears. You are here to learn the true way of the Oriji—where wisdom is gained not by defeating others, but by standing firm in the truth. Now, hand me a piece of paper and a pencil.”
Orijesso nodded and quickly retrieved a blank sheet from the shelf, setting it beside the Master’s tools. He watched closely as Father Heather Feather began charting the coordinates.
“The BoogyJi haven’t been seen near the borders in centuries,” Orijesso murmured, watching the Master's pencil glide across the page. “If they’re truly moving again, how do the Oriji Origi-Knights stop them without a fight?”
Father Heather Feather paused, setting the pencil down. He looked at Orijesso with a calm, steady gaze.
“The BoogyJi thrive on two things: doubt and fear,” the Master explained quietly. “They trick people into believing that they are powerless. An Oriji Origi-Knight doesn't fight darkness with violence, Orijesso. We defeat it by holding onto the truth—because once a mind remembers who it truly is, no illusion can ever trap it again.”
Orijesso felt a quiet warmth settle in his chest. The nervousness that had been twisting his stomach since morning began to fade.
“Are you ready to begin your true training as an Oriji Origi-Knight?” Father Heather Feather asked, offering a faint smile.
Orijesso straightened his shoulders and smiled back. “I’m ready, Master.”
